Kmart’s legacy in California is down to just one last location.

Kmart used to have six locations in the state, but financial issues led to multiple closures in recent years.

The other two current locations still operating in South Lake Tahoe and in Watsonville will close soon, leaving Grass Valley the single community in California with a Kmart.

According to SFGATE, both locations will be closing in late August.

Grass Valley is located in Nevada County, 60 miles from Sacramento.

Kmart was founded in the 1800s as a five-and-dime store in Tennessee. The first Kmart-branded store opened in 1962 in San Fernando in California. But the chain has struggled for several years. In 2002, Kmart filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and laid off tens of thousands of workers.

A couple of years later, Kmart bought Sears and merged the two companies, but that didn’t help stave off financial issues.

There are only a few dozen Kmarts now left in the U.S.
