Police have determined the woman whose car smashed into a Northern California preschool on Thursday afternoon was not impaired at the time of the collision.

Fourteen children were transported in ambulances to nearby hospitals following the crash, the Anderson Police Department said in a Facebook post on Thursday night.
The crash was reported at about 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Balls Ferry Road and Martha Street in Anderson, just west of I-5 and about 12 miles south of Redding in Shasta County, officials said.
Police said 19 children were inside the school at the time of the crash, along with two staff members. Fourteen of the children were taken to hospitals in Redding and Red Bluff using ambulances, police told KRCR on Thursday afternoon. Five additional children were transported to those hospitals by their parents, according to the station.
The Anderson Police Department said on Thursday night there were no fatalities, and none are expected.
A drug recognition expert determined the woman wasn't impaired following an assessment. Police said the driver was cooperative, releasing her after she provided a statement.
