After being closed for nearly a year due to "unforeseen events" and damage caused by the Caldor Fire the resort will open on April 9 and 10 for a special event weekend to celebrate its 75th anniversary, the resort wrote on their website.
The resort said it is bringing back the annual Subaru WinterFest, with live music, food, gear shopping, sustainability demonstrations, and gift giveaways to Subaru owners.
On April 10 METHODOLOGY Presented by Vans will have their last stop of its nationwide tour, by holding a competition for riders to showcase their talent, the resort reported. Registration for the competition will be $25 per person and all the money will go towards Sierra-at-Tahoe Education Foundation to help resort employees who were impacted by the Caldor Fire. Those who want to compete can pre-register for the event starting March 16.
Sierra-at-Tahoe said lift tickets for the weekend will be available to buy on the resort website starting at 8 a.m. on March 16. Tickets for adults are $60 and for $50 for children. Pre-sale tickets are expected to sell out and day-of tickets will be limited based on parking availability.
