Capitol Police said the arrest occurred just after midnight on Monday. An officer patrolling the area near DNC offices noticed a Dodge Dakota pickup truck bearing swastikas and other "white supremacist symbols." The truck did not have a livense plate.

The officer pulled Craighead overnear the 500 block of South Capitol Street Southwest. Craighead reportedly told the officer he was "on patrol" and began spouting white supremacist rhetoric.

It is unclear if Craighead intended to participate in a major right-wing political rally planned at the U.S. Capitol this coming Saturday.

Capitol Police have not yet released additional details about Craighead or his arrest. An investigation is ongoing. KNX will update this story with more information as it becomes available.
