Alexander pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor counts of trespassing, vandalism and battery on Monday in Ventura County, CNN reported. Once those charges are processed the Napa County Sheriff’s Office can move him.
The two charges he is facing in Napa County are felony grand theft and a felony of a value exceeding $400, Henry Wofford the Public Information Officer at Napa County Sheriff's Office told KCBS Radio.
In August of 2015, Alexander started renting a room from a woman in American Canyon, Wofford said. A month into his stay there she approached him about some of her jewelry that was missing. In November she asked him again about the missing jewelry and he admitted to taking it and pawning it for money and told her he would get it back for her or buy her a new one, Wofford explained.
In January of 2016, the woman still didn't have her jewelry so she went to the police to report the missing diamond and sapphire bracelet, he said. Once the report was filed an investigation started to reclaim the $2000 bracelet.
When the bracelet was returned, an arrest warrant was issued for Alexander on February 29, 2016. An arrest was never made because he moved out of state. Now that he has been arrested in another county in California the Napa County Sheriff's Office has five days to come pick him up after his charges in Ventura County are processed.
