Yosemite Search and Rescue is calling on the public to help find a man who went missing on Monday.
Joel Thomazin, 31, set out on a three-day solo hike from Hetch Hetchy to Lake Eleanor back to Hetch Hetchy on Sept. 6. He was due back on Sept. 9, but never returned.
Joel brought a Kelty brand yellow and gray backpack, green sleeping bag, red inflatable kayak, blue-green hammock and tan or blue zip-off pants with him on his trip. He is 5’10” with buzzed brown hair.
Yosemite officials are asking for anyone who was in the area of Miguel Meadow, Lake Eleanor or on the trails of Hetch Hetchy since Monday, or anyone who has information about Joel, to contact 209-238-7046.
