Tony McDaniel Director of Communications for the Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau told KCBS Radio that everything that was supposed to be open this year is open.
"The big news is Mariposa Grove reopening, which it's reopening with shuttle service from the parking lot up to the grove," he said.
McDaniel said some trails are still closed, including the Washburn trail that leads to the Mariposa Grove from the parking lot. For tourists visiting he said people need to be aware that a fire recently burned there and it will be evident.
"There are some areas along the access road that are going to look recently burned. The big thing for people to make sure they are staying safe is to know where the area’s closures are," he said.
The Wawona campgrounds and lodging have reopened and McDaniel emphasized the need for tourism to return.
"We really need people to return in order to help the families and the businesses here and the people that work within this industry recover because without tourism visitation we will struggle and that’s really our main industry in Mariposa County," he explained.
