ANTIOCH, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Illinois police said they arrested a white juvenile Wednesday after two people were fatally shot during a third night of unrest Tuesday night in Kenosha over the police shooting of a black man, Jacob Blake.

Cmdr. Norman Johnson of the Antioch Police Department said the 17-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree intentional homicide. His name was not released because he is under 18.

Antioch officials said Kenosha County authorities issued an arrest warrant Wednesday morning for the individual on a charge of First Degree Intentional Homicide. The suspect was currently in custody of the Lake County Judicial System, pending an extradition hearing to transfer custody from Illinois to Wisconsin.

Antioch is about 15 miles from Kenosha, where protests have continued for three nights since the police shooting of 29-year-old Jacob Blake.

Two people were killed, and another person was wounded Tuesday night. A young white man was seen on cellphone video opening fire in the middle of the street with a semi-automatic rifle.

One victim was shot in the head and the other in the chest, Sheriff David Beth told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. A third person suffered gunshot wounds not believed to be life-threatening.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported the suspect in the shooting had been identified as an Illinois young man.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, based on Wisconsin law, the teen would be charged as an adult.
