Since the pandemic first hit two years ago, Slack became the link that connected employees working from home to their colleagues.
On Tuesday morning, thousands of remote employees found that they couldn't log in to their accounts, according to tracking website Downdetector.
More than 10,000 reports of outages came into the site starting around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, with commenters reporting outages across the world, from Texas to Germany, according to the site.
Just before 6:45 a.m., Slack posted on Twitter that some "may be experiencing issues with loading Slack. We'll provide a status update once we have more information. We're sorry for the disruption."
According to Slack's status page, the platform "is not loading for some users."
The last update on the page was just before 6:45 a.m.
"We're still working towards a full resolution," said the update, promising another update "soon."
Just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday Slack posted that "We're seeing signs of improvement. Please try reloading Slack, and if not a cache reset. We're still monitoring the situation. We'll confirm once this issue is fully resolved," according to their Twitter page.
The last major outage the app had was a little over a year ago, just after employees were getting back to work after the holidays on Jan. 4, 2021.
