Two players on the decorated U.S. Olympic Women’s Soccer Team attended the same K-12 Bay Area school and are back together again in Tokyo.
Tierna Davidson and Abby Dahlkemper are both former students of Sacred Heart Schools in Atherton. Now, the women are back together once again for a chance to win gold at the postponed Olympics, representing the United States on the Women's Soccer Team.
"Having a local connection with two young ladies from the same school is so unusual," said Bret Harmon, Sacred Heart’s athletic director. "It speaks a lot to them and their families and how hard they worked, as well as the kind of people that they are."
"We were thrilled when both Abby and Tierna got an opportunity to play together for the World Cup back in 2019," Sacred Heart Assistant Principal for Athletics told KCBS Radio. "So, for them to continue their journey together representing the country in the Olympics is thrilling, it’s exciting."
Both players are now in Tokyo, preparing with their teammates for the world competition to begin next Saturday.
