Extremely rare tick-borne illness surfaces in Contra Costa County

An extremely rare tick-borne illness has been traced to Contra Costa County. Between the World Cup and Fourth of July, it’s bound to be a busy week around the Bay Area, prompting extra efforts to keep the community safe. California's new budget agreement is putting nearly a billion dollars back into the state's homeless housing and assistance program.
