Newsom signs a number of bills targeting data centers

California is putting new restrictions on the rapidly expanding data center industry. This week, Governor Gavin Newsom signed seven bills into law, which are designed to make data centers pay more of their own infrastructure costs and disclose how much water and other resources they use.
