Investigators said they later found a sniper dead on a nearby roof, and are working to determine whether more than one shooter was involved. The victims were all detainees, police confirmed, and two were killed while another was critically injured.

The incident prompted a heavy police presence in the area and heightened security at federal facilities. Authorities have not identified any suspects beyond saying the sniper found dead on the roof is a white man, and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The suspect reportedly specifically targeted the US ICE office during the shooting and fired shots down at the sally port from a nearby elevated position. Shots were reportedly fired into a van carrying detainees at the facility, which was recently the target of a bomb threat.
