It was always expected that whatever the outcome of former President Donald Trump’s history-making criminal trial, the aftermath would be filled with anger from one side of the political aisle.
Now, after Trump became the first former President to be convicted of criminal charges, it’s the conservative side blasting social media with their ire while also attempting to raise money for Trump’s ongoing campaign for a return to the White House.
Former Fox News commentator Tucker Carlson remains so confident in a November Trump victory, even after his 34 felony convictions, that he declared assassination would be the only way to keep him from a second term as President.
“Import the Third World, become the Third World. That’s what we just saw,” Carlson posted on X (formerly Twitter). “This won’t stop Trump. He’ll win the election if he’s not killed first. But it does mark the end of the fairest justice system in the world. Anyone who defends this verdict is a danger to you and your family.”
Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida also urged continued support of the now-convicted former President, posting a fundraising link to the Trump campaign with the message, “Don’t just get angry about this travesty, get even!”
Despite his legal troubles – the 34 felony convictions in the New York “hush money” trial are the outcome of just one of the prosecutions that were on the docket for Trump – he remains on track to garner the Republican nomination for a third straight Presidential election and a second consecutive November showdown with President Joe Biden.
