Why are so many restaurants filing for bankruptcy?

It has not been a great year for the dining industry, and part of the trouble can be seen through the unusually high number of bankruptcy filings among restaurant chains.

Carson shared with Fox Business that last year the number was nine.

Still, compared to the pandemic, the numbers this year are still low, as nearly three dozen major franchises folded over a 12-month period while the COVID-19 virus shut the world down.
