12 Major Mobile Carriers Agree To Combat Illegal Robocalls

HARRISBURG (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — No more robocalls? A dozen major phone companies have reached an agreement with attorneys general nationwide to prevent illegal robocalls. 

AT&T, Bandwidth, CenturyLink, Charter, Comcast, Consolidated, Frontier, Sprint, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Verizon, and Windstream have entered the agreement. 

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro announcing Thursday the carriers have agreed to offer free call blocking services, implement technology to authenticate call sources, and monitor networks for robocall traffic. The companies have also agreed to help attorneys general in investigating and taking action against suspicious callers.
