12 Pittsburgh Public Schools To Close For President Trump's Visit

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Twelve Pittsburgh Public Schools will close on Wednesday ahead of President Donald Trump’s visit to Wednesday.

The district announced the move Monday “to ensure student safety”.

The move affects over 2,000 students who have school downtown or travel through downtown.

The following schools will be closed:

  • Pittsburgh Allderdice High School
  • Pittsburgh Brashear High School
  • Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12 
  • Pittsburgh Carrick High School
  • Pittsburgh Milliones 6-12
  • Pittsburgh Obama 6-12
  • Pittsburgh Online Academy Drop In Center 
  • Pittsburgh Oliver Citywide Academy
  • Pittsburgh Perry High School
  • Pittsburgh Science and Technology Academy
  • Pittsburgh Student Achievement Center
  • Pittsburgh Westinghouse 6-12

All staff are expected to report with the exception of Pittsburgh CAPA who will report to Pittsburgh Greenway.

All other schools will operate on a normal schedule

District Early Childhood Centers and Head Start Programs held at closed school will run as scheduled.

All athletic events are cancelled Wednesday.
