15th Port Authority Employee Tests Positive For COVID-19, First Since May 5

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Another Port Authority employee has tested positive for COVID-19, the first positive case since May 5.

The employee works out of the West Mifflin garage and is an operator. They are the 15th employee to test positive since the outbreak came to Western PA.

The bus driver last operated a bus on Tuesday, June 23 and has been at home recovering since.

Port Authority says the person traveled out of state before being diagnosed and a contact tracing investigation is underway.

After learning about the positive case, Port Authority conducted a deep cleaning of the garage and busses the driver operated.

Over 100 Port Authority employees are currently not working due to precautionary self-quarantine, pre-existing conditions or other COVID-19 related issues.
