Allegheny County Rich Fitzgerald says people in the county are doing their part to keep the area from becoming a hot spot.

"We're 10 percent of the population (of Pennsylvania) in Allegheny County, but we're less than 1 percent of the cases," said Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald adds that it is important to continue practice social distancing but there is hope that some businesses and other activities could reopen in the next few weeks while still using social distancing.

"The best way to beat the coronavirus is to stop its spread. You can help stop the spread of the virus by washing your hands and cleaning frequently touched surfaces often, staying home as much as possible and keeping 6 feet away from people and wearing a mask if you do go out in public," the county said in a release
