PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - America's largest home and garden show is now underway at the David L Lawrence Convention Center.

"We've added more than 200 exhibits to what we had last year," said John DeSantis, Executive Director of the Pittsburgh Home and Garden Show, during an interview with KDKA Radio on Friday morning.

"That's a big step; lots of new companies, new products, and of course, all of the old favorites are back as well," DeSantis added.

There will be over 11 acres of food, furniture and services.

"If you walk every aisle of the show one time, you've walked six miles inside the building," DeSantis explains.

A new feature that is coming to this year's show is called "farm to table."

This is a big movement around the world of people who want locally sourced, fresh food.

"Farm to table is an entire festival of great food ideas. You actually meet the local farmers who are raising produce and vegetables, people who are raising chicken or meat,” DeSantis tells KDKA Radio.

"All of these folks are there sampling their products. They are talking to you about how you can access their products throughout the year."

The show ends March 10th.
