PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Cases of coronavirus in Western PA continues to rise, but not at an uncontrollable pace.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health released numbers on Friday that shows 1,208 additional cases of COVID-19 in PA for a total of 46,971. That's an increase of 8,319 compared to last Friday.
A total of 2,354 have died across the commonwealth, an increase of 862 compared to last week.
In the Pittsburgh region, 32,799 people have tested negative for COVID-19.
Locally, there are now:
1,319 cases with 99 deaths in Allegheny with 16,107 negative tests426 with 67 deaths in Beaver with 2,085 negative tests180 with six deaths in Butler with 2,208 negative tests116 with two death in Washington with 2,103 negative tests393 with 25 deaths in Westmoreland with 4,596 negative tests52 with two deaths in Armstrong with 683 negative tests65 with six deaths in Lawrence with 736 negative tests65 with one death in Mercer with 744 negative tests63 with four deaths in Indiana with 726 negative tests26 with zero deaths in Greene with 421 negative tests 81 with four death in Fayette with 1,794 negative tests26 with zero deaths in Somerset with 596 negative tests
That is a total of 2,812 cases (365 more compared to last Friday) and 216 dead in the area (58 more than last Friday).
