PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - In her weekly COVID-19 update, Allegheny County Health Department Director Dr. Deborah Bogen says hospitalization rates have shown a marked increase in recent days.
77 hospitalizations have been reported in the past week.
Bogen says she's in close touch with hospital officials.
"And they reassured me that they have the capacity to handle this increase in hospitalizations and have robust plans to expand bed space if needed," said Bogen.
While bars and restaurants are still the most common source for COVID-19, the numbers are coming down.
More patients now report attending private parties, weddings funerals, religious services, and gyms.
