PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — Detroit police have issued a warrant requesting assault and battery charges be filed against Allegheny County Controller Chelsa Wagner.

She was arrested Tuesday night at the Westin Book Cadillac hotel after an incident with police.  Detroit Police Chief James Craig, spoke to reporters and said there is police body-cam video of the incident but it will not be released during the investigation.

Wagner and her husband attended a concert and checked into a hotel where Wagner went to bed and her husband remained downstairs.

Hours later, police brought Wagner's husband to the room in handcuffs and there was a confrontation.

“The officers grab her and shove her out of the elevator and she falls to the ground and she’s hurt,” Wagner's attorney Heather Heidelbaugh told Marty Griffin and Wendy Bell on KDKA Radio.

Police have a different version, saying Wagner grabbed an officer’s jacket and he pushed her off him.

They also say Wagner’s husband was under the influence of alcohol.

Wagner plans to hold a news conference.
