PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) Allegheny County Parks Department announced today that county pools and spray parks will not open this summer.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions of mass gatherings Boyce Park Wave Pool, Deer Lakes Spray Park, North Park Swimming Pool, Round Hill Spray Park, Settlers Cabin Park Wave Pool, and South Park Wave Pool will not open this summer.

County parks will offer programs, including mountain biking, yoga, nature programs, and more, starting May 18, that will be limited participation and following social distancing guidelines.

Starting May 16, facility rentals are able to begin but renters and guests must follow guildelines set by the CDC and local and state health departments.

The Parks Department urges people to practice social distancing when visiting their parks.
