PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Allegheny County saw a sharp drop in accidental overdose deaths last year.
Collaborative efforts among various agencies and the availability of Nalaxone are credited for the 41% drop in accidental overdoses in Allegheny County in 2018.
But as officials tackle the opioid crisis, Allegheny County Medical Examiner Dr. Karl Williams says there is an increase in other drugs.
"We're going to see more methamphetamine, we're going to see more amphetamine, we're going to see more cocaine, we're going to see more of a wide variety of drugs that we don't even completely know what we're going to be seeing," said Williams.
