PENN HILLS (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — A teenager abducted from her home last night in Penn Hills has been found and her ex-boyfriend is in custody.
Police got a tip early Monday both were in a house on 28th St. in McKeesport. Officers forced their way inside the home and 16-year-old Marjani Aquil was taken to the hospital.
Police say 19-year-old Jermaine Laquay Rodgers was hiding in the cellar of the home and was taken into custody after a two-hour standoff.
Rodgers is Aquil’s ex-boyfriend. Investigators say he broke into her home on Glenbrook Ct. in Penn Hills, assaulted and abducted her Wednesday night.
State Police issued an Amber alert at 8:14 p.m. Wednesday and was cancelled at 1:34 a.m. Thursday.
This is the second time Rodgers has been charged with holding Aquil against her will. The first time was about a year ago.
Rodgers was out on probation for that offense when Wednesday’s abduction occurred.
