(Newsradio 1020 KDKA) Romaine lettuce is having yet another recall just in time for Thanksgiving.
There have been 67 cases of E. coli over 19 states that have been traced back to romaine lettuce being grown in Salinas, Calif.
Many of the cases have led to hospitalization, while a rare few have left people with kidney failure.
No deaths have been reported.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended that consumers check their packaged goods that contain romaine to check where the lettuce was grown.
If your lettuce is from the area, do not eat it and throw it away.
The CDC also advises that after removal of the lettuce to clean anywhere it may have been stored.
Be sure to check your lettuce before it hits the table this Thanksgiving.
