PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Apple is scheduled to launch a new television streaming service this fall.

“It’s to competition with things like Netflix, HBO GO, and Hulu,” said CBS Technology Consultant, Larry Magid, during an interview with KDKA Radio on Wednesday.

“It’s just an original content streaming service.”

They will be entering a challenging market, as there are already a number of providers out there .

“I don’t know how much more demand there’s going to be, but Apple is going to find out,” Magid explains.

The platform can be accessed by third party devices like Roku Streaming Sticks and Smart TV’s.

They will also be releasing an Apple credit card.

“It doesn’t use a signature and it doesn’t have a number on it. It’s kind of a modern day credit card,” Magid tells KDKA Radio.

There will be no additional fees associated with the card. Therefore, no late fees or international fees.

He also claims that Apple will try to show cardholders how much interest they are paying.

“I think for millennials, it could be a very good finance lesson to understand that those interest payments can add up forever,” Magid added.

The release date for the Apple Card has not yet been announced.
