A modified Beaver County BOOM celebration is moving forward this year.

The fireworks display, organized by a group known as PUSH Beaver County, announced plans for the event to take place to "celebrate the reopening of our County" following the recent COVID-19 shutdowns.

Organizers say the fireworks display will be a Zambelli production and will take place on July 4th at 9:30pm and will be "a barge show at the confluence of the Beaver and Ohio rivers."

In a social media post, Beaver County BOOM asked spectators to enjoy the show while maintaining safe social distancing.

The original 10th anniversary festival was cancelled earlier this year. This fireworks display would be a modified version of the overall celebration.

In May, the City of Pittsburgh canceled their 4th of July fireworks display due to concerns related to COVID-19.
