PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Last week, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced Allegheny County, among surrounding regions, would enter the "yellow phase" on May 15th. Beaver County was not included.
However, the District Attorney in Beaver County, David Lozier, said he would not prosecute any business owner that defies Gov. Wolf's orders.
"On March 20th, I issued a guidance to the police chief in Beaver County that I would not be prosecuting business violations, because I believe that the orders were too vague to enforce using the criminal law," Lozier said on Tuesday during KDKA Radio Morning Show.
"There's nothing personal about this. We're looking at thousands of Beaver County businesses that have been closed because of discriminatory orders passed by the Governor," Lozier adds.
