Presidential candidate Joe Biden visited Pittsburgh Monday.
In a more than 20 minute speech at the Hazelwood Green development, the Democratic candidate Joe Biden issued his strongest condemnation yet on violence, whether it comes from police or protestors.
"Rioting is not protesting, looting is not protesting, setting fires is not protesting, none of this is protesting. It's lawlessness plain and simple." And he said it must be prosecuted.
Biden attacked what he called Donald Trump's America and vowed to bring the county together if elected. He blasted the President for failing to call on his own supporters to stop acting as an armed militia. "He doesn't want to shed light, he wants to generate heat. And he's stoking violence in our cities."
Biden said Donald Trump has failed to protect America, so now he's trying to scare America. He criticized the president whom he says long ago forfeited any moral leadership.
Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald told the KDKA Radio Morning Show that Biden's stop in Pittsburgh is a big deal. "Joe Biden has always been a big supporter of ours, but it shows how much we are gonna benefit because he cares about us."
Fitzgerald told the Morning Show that the last investment that Obama-Biden administration made was $250 million dollars for the Hazelwood Green project. It's now home to advanced manufacturing of products for the cracker plant and robotics sector.
This was Biden's first major campaign speech since the Democratic National Convention.
