PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Some new changes are possibly coming to Ross Park Mall in the North Hills.

“They are proposing demolition of the existing Sears space and constructing a three-story building there,” said Steve Korbel, President of the Ross Township Board of Commissioners, during an interview with KDKA Radio on Wednesday morning.

“Also adjacent to the old Sears location, a second outparcel that will be a two story retail space.”

A fitness center, a Movie Theater, new restaurants and other retail stores will be a part of the new look.

In addition, they are expecting to move the existing food court to the lower level of the new building.

The ongoing success of Ross Park Mall has to do with the exclusive stores that are not common in the Pittsburgh area.

"They have unique retail outlets that make it a destination mall for folks not only in Allegheny County, but the entire region and outside of Pennsylvania," Korbel explains.
