PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh Bishop David Zubik has released his pastoral letter Monday afternoon.
It comes in response to listening sessions in the Diocese of Pittsburgh from Catholics and non-Catholics after last year's state grand jury report on child sexual abuse by Catholic clergy.
Entitled, “The Church Healing” Zubik outlines a five-point action plan, beginning with "Healing and Enhanced Support for victims/survivors, their families and loved ones" and continuing with greater financial transparency, increased accountability, ongoing spiritual and human formation for clergy and seminarians, and continued listening to seek truth and reconciliation.
A summary of the letter can be found .
