Bridgeville, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - It was supposed to be a nice way to introduce two new officers to the community and beat the heat for one Pittsburgh area neighborhood.
The Bridgeville Police Department held a Kona with the Cops event, inviting residents to join them at various locations throughout the day Wednesday for free Kona Ice.
Officers ended up making a drug bust during their last stop of the day.
On Facebook, the department wrote, "So... Our “Kona with the cops” event went particularly well yesterday (once the pictures are compiled I’ll post in the near future).
Our final stop was at Chartiers Park, that’s when “JT from Crafton“ arrived (not to be confused with “Joe from Blawnox” or “Arnold Slick from Turtle Crick”) and apparently he didn’t get the memo...
Instead of showing up with a good attitude, greeting our new police officers and getting a sugar rush, “JT” did quite the opposite...
You see, “JT” arrived in a park full of children, driving like an idiot, acting like an idiot, and possessing 50 bags of Heroin, syringes, & Crack pipes along with an assortment of other paraphernalia. Apparently “JT” thought this event was “Dope with the cops”...
Needless to say, “JT” did get to meet our new officers, along with the rest of the welcoming committee and Ptl. Lower ended up getting his first arrest in a Bridgeville uniform for DUI & drug possession."
If you were wondering about the Kona Ice, the department finished off their posts with, "But hey... The Kona was delish!!"
