
PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A federal inspection of the Brighton Rehabilitation and Wellness Center in Beaver County has resulted in a fine of more than $62,000 for violations related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
80 residents have died at the 589 bed facility.
It was the hardest hit nursing home in Pennsylvania from coronavirus.
The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services found problems with infection control.
National Guard troops were deployed for more than a week in May to help with staffing and cleaning.
A statement from Brighton says in part, “we remain committed to working hand in hand with all local, state and federal authorities.”
The state has hired a temporary manager to assist at the facility.
