Carnegie Library Of Pittsburgh Announces Nearly 2 Million Digital Checkouts In 2019

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh announces almost 2 million digital checkout in 2019.

The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has announced groundbreaking records for its digital book checkout services.

The Library hit 1.9 million digital checkouts to round out 2019.

Not only did the Carnegie Library’s Pittsburgh location hit nearly two million checkouts, they were one of 73 systems around the globe to reach the one million mark. 

“Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh launched its OverDrive-powered digital collection in 2005, providing readers 24/7 access to eBooks and audiobooks,” said Hilary Lewis, Coordinator eResources at Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.”

“Reader interest and usage has grown every year since. We are very excited to celebrate close to two million checkouts in 2019! We appreciate our staff who promote our collection and our customers who enjoy reading.”

The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh offers 24/7 access to ebooks and audiobooks, and the demand for both of those services is only growing.
