PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – The baby clouded leopard cub born at The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium on March 14 has a new companion and we’ll find out their names Wednesday morning!
The two-month-old clouded leopard was born to mom Saya and dad Pi. The zoo says, “While Saya was attentive to her cub, staff noticed that the cub wasn’t nursing on her own. The difficult decision to step in and hand raise her was made.”
Once the cubs get to know each other better along with their new surroundings, a playtime will be scheduled outside.
The zoo says with fewer than 10,000 left in the wild, clouded leopards are on the endangered list.
