PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A construction worker is in serious, but stable condition after he fell down a hillside on Arlington Avenue Friday morning.

Pittsburgh Public Safety says that EMS, fire and police responded to a 911 call around 9:30 a.m. when they discovered the City of Pittsburgh construction manager had fallen 150 feet down the hillside and into a gully.

A rope belay system was established to move the man in a Stokes basket down a 65 percent grade.

The man was moved down the hillside a little over an hour after the rescue began.

He was then transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The man was working on a landside mitigation project.
