PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - While the greater Pittsburgh area is only expected to see minor snow accumulation overnight, Allegheny County Public Works says their crews are ready.
A coating to an inch of snow is forecast for overnight and could make the morning commute tricky.
Public Works Director Stephen Shanley said in a statement:
“We will deploy 28 salt trucks starting at midnight, and we will provide continual coverage until the precipitation stops and county roadways are clear. We advise drivers to be extra cautious and leave additional time to reach their destination tomorrow, especially during the morning rush hour, as there might be slick spots on roads and bridges.”
Areas east of the city including Latrobe and Uniontown could see additional snowfall.
In addition another coating to an inch could fall on Thursday around Pittsburgh
