PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Due to a foundation issue, Emporio: A Meatball Joint has been forced to temporarily close.

In a message posted on Facebook Monday, The Burnt Orange Restaurant Group, parent company of Emporio, said that its location at the Village of Pine in Pine Township, “has been forced to temporarily cease operations at this time.”

They point to employee and customer safety concerns as the “driving forces behind this”.

It was recently discovered that the ground the restaurant is built on is sinking.

Management adds that any gift card purchased at the Pine location will be honored at their two other locations, Sienna on the Square at 22 Market Street and Sienna Mercato at 942 Penn Avenue.

Emporio has been operating in Pine for the past four years.
