HARRISBURG (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The first confirmed case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Western Pennsylvania by the PA Department of Health.
The patient is an adult in Washington County.
The state gave the update at 5:00 p.m.
There are now a total of 41 cases in the commonwealth with 40 on the eastern part of the state.
Of those 41 cases 35 are presumptive cases and six are confirmed by the CDC.
The breakdown by county goes as followed:

- Chester (1)
- Cumberland (3)
- Delaware (6)
- Monroe (3)
- Montgomery (18)
- Northampton (1)
- Philadelphia (3)
- Pike (1)
- Washington (1)
- Wayne (1)
As of Friday at 5 p.m.315 people are under investigation for COVID-19 with 145 pending, 130 pending, 35 presumed positive and six confirmed by the CDC.
On Friday, President Donald Trump, declared the coronavirus pandemic a national emergency, as Washington struggles with providing Americans with relief and officials race to slow the spread of the outbreak.
