Free Drive-In Theater Coming To Pittsburgh Area Walmart Locations

Several Walmart locations in the Pittsburgh area will be hosting a free drive-in movie theater in its parking lots this October.

The retail giant announced last month it would bring the movies to locations all across the county and now dates and movie titles have been revealed.

Beginning on Wednesday, August 5 at 5 p.m., families can visit Walmart’s Drive-in website and register for the event. Once registered, customers will get a QR code that will grant them entry on the day of the event.

Movies will be shown at the following locations:

Beaver Falls - 10/6/20Beaver Falls - 10/7/20West Mifflin - 10/9/20West Mifflin - 10/10/20North Huntingdon - 10/13/20North Huntingdon - 10/14/20

Many different movies are being offered through a partnership with the Tribeca Film Festival.

  • Inspiring sports stories like Friday Night Lights, The Karate Kid and Space Jam
  • Blockbuster franchises including Black Panther, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, The Lego Batman Movie, Spider-ManTM: Into The Spider-Verse, Spy Kids, Teen Titans GO! To The Movies and Wonder Woman
  • Out-of-this-world stories like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Ghostbusters and Men in BlackTM: International
  • Nostalgic favorites including Back to The Future, Beetlejuice, The Goonies and The Wizard of Oz
  • Inspiring true stories from Dolphin Tale to Selena
  • Animated features every member of the family can enjoy like Cars, The Iron Giant, The Lego Movie and Madagascar
  • Ahead of each feature presentation, audiences will screen one of a number of short films, including Bilby, Bird Karma, Brooklyn Breeze, CROW:The Legend, Fire In Cardboard City, INVASION!, Looney Tunes’ Boo! Appetweet and Marooned

Celebrities will also make virtual or in-person visits to some of the locations.

Movie concessions will be offered through Walmart’s pickup or delivery services.

A radio is required to be able to listen to the movie. A mask is required if you leave your vehicle.

In addition Alcohol is prohibited and you must have a car to attend the screening.
