PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Godmother of the toddler who was abducted and later found dead in an Indiana County park has begun a fundraiser for the family.

Tyjzae Veney started a GoFundMe Wednesday after nearly 2-year-old Nalani Johnson’s body was found in a wooded area of Pine Ridge Park in Indiana County Tuesday.

Veney is looking for a goal of $5,000 for Nalani’s mother Gladys Duarte.

On the page Veney writes:

Hello I’m Nalani Johnsons God mother I’m reaching out to see if We can help Evy (Gladys Duarte) her mother who is like a sister to me during this time of need. I’m sure that everyone is aware of how we tragically lost the light of our lives our baby “moo”.  Evy hasn’t been able to function without having Nalani by her side and I’m sure you all can only imagine how hard things are for her from every aspect of life. All I’m asking is for some help to support Evy during this time of need. Help my dearest friend get back on her feet because as unfortunate as this is Evy still has a life to live we thank you for all of your prayers kind words and donations in advance.

Those interested in donating can do so here.

District Attorney said Thursday that evidence shows 25-year-old Sharena Nancy adducted Nalani and killed her. He added that the little girl’s father was not involved.

Visitation will be held for Nalani from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Mount Ararat Baptist Church on Paulson Ave. with a service will follow.

A candlelight vigil for the toddler will be held at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at the Blairsville Amphitheater.
