PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Tuesday, May 5th is Giving Tuesday Now. It is a global day of giving that encourages generosity and citizen engagement.

To honor the day, Pittsburgh Magazine organized the campaign - Give Big Pittsburgh COVID-19 Response.

This citywide fund-raising effort will support non-profits that are providing essential services to those affected by the disease and organizations whose operations have been disrupted by the economic shutdown deployed to fight the pandemic. (www.givebigpittsburgh.com)

All you have to do is go to the website and make a donation.

“You can go there and shop around, and look for your nonprofit or look for a nonprofit that you feel really needs your help today,” said Betsy Benson, Publisher and Vice President of Pittsburgh Magazine, during an interview with the KDKA Radio Morning Show on Tuesday.

The nonprofits connect their checking account to the Give Big Pittsburgh website, “so the dollar that you put in - goes directly to that nonprofit, that minute,” Benson explains.
