PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – It wasn’t just expensive antique and exotic cars lost in Wednesday’s six alarm warehouse fire in Etna.
There were artists and crafts people who had offices and studios in the STORExpress warehouse off Butler Street.
Now, a Go Fund Me page has been set up to help them get back on their feet.
“Most of them were just trying to get a start in business until they can afford a bigger, better place,” said Frank Perman of nearby Perman Funeral Home in nearby Shaler. “They lost everything.”
Perman is working with the Etna Economic Development Corporation which will manage the Go Fund Me account.
“They not only lost their supplies. They lost their inventory of art work. Jewelers lost their equipment,” said Perman.
Also lost in the fire were some 200 antique and exotic vehicles. Etna fire officials believe fuel from those vehicles made the fire worse.
Investigators are still looking into what caused it.
