PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Governor Tom Wolf believes Pennsylvania can become a central hub for innovation.
He announced a new budget proposal that would increase funding for education, workforce development and economic development by $12.3 million dollars.
He spoke to a crowd this morning at a press conference at Mill 19.
“By taking an organized, top down approach to building the climate needed for innovators to succeed in Pennsylvania, every Pennsylvanian in every job is going to benefit from a stronger economy,” said Wolf.
The funds will support programs like the PREP Network, Invent Penn State, the Industrial Resource Centers and the Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority.
