Senior Vice President of Entercom Radio Pittsburgh Michael Spacciapolli sent out the following memo Tuesday afternoon:

After doing double duty at both KDKA Radio and KDKA TV for well over 15 years, John Shumway will be cutting back his schedule.
We have worked with John to determine it is best for him to relinquish his radio responsibilities and focus his time on his extraordinary work as a general assignment reporter at KDKA-TV.
John has been the cohost of the KDKA Radio Morning news for over 15 years - his tireless work ethic and news judgment has been a cornerstone of KDKA Radio mornings.  His integrity is unquestionable. Simply put, John is one the most gifted, well-respected journalists in our city.
I want to personally thank John for his tireless work over the years with us, it has been an honor to work alongside him.
John’s final day on the KDKA Morning News will be Wednesday, November 27th.

We would like to thank John for is constant professionalism and will miss him around the office.
