
PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - It’s still too little early for Kennywood to be open but it’s not too early to get a job there.
The longtime Pittsburgh amusement park and its sister parks, Sandcastle Waterpark along with Idlewild & SoakZone are looking to fill 2,700 summer jobs.
Kennywood is looking for individuals to work in its Rides, Games, Food & Beverage, Grounds and Public Safety departments. Idlewild is looking for around 800 employees and Sandcastle is looking for 400.
The largest employer of young adults in Southwestern PA and have announced that all new and returning employees will get an increase in pay from last year at all three parks.
Adults and retirees looking for seasonal work are also encouraged to apply.
Pay rates for new hires will be $9 an hour with lifeguards at Sandcastle making $11 an hour. New team members at Idlewild will make $8.30 to $9.00 to start.
Kennywood says seasonal hires will enjoy flexible schedules, free admission to all three parks as well as other parks around the region, discounted tickets for friends and family and more.
The parks will host a job fair for those interested in employment on Saturday, March 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. To apply online visit the employment pages of each park: Kennywood, Sandcastle or Idlewild.
