PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A few months ago, the wife of local musician Jack Hunt, better known as Johnny Angel, was given one month to live.
She was in need of a liver transplant, and Johnny made a plea for help on social media. A stranger reached out to help.
“She saw my Facebook plea for somebody to step forward and she felt compelled to do something. She went and got checked. She had absolutely nothing to gain, and everything to lose,” Johnny explains.
“Next thing, she stepped forward; we got a call, they said, ‘we have a donor for you,’”
It turned out that the donor’s son and Johnny’s grandson practice karate together. So she put two and two together, and realized who Johnny was.
Both the donor and Johnny’s wife are recovering well.
