PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - A New Kensington man arrested Monday night in Downtown Pittsburgh is accused of flashing a knife while trying to rob a Port Authority police officer.
26-year-old Aaron Walker reportedly tried to rob the plain clothes officer at Fifth Avenue and Wood Street around 6 p.m.
The criminal complaint says Walker approached the officer with a black knife in one hand demanding “...five bucks and a cigarette.”
The officer turned him down and Walker moved on.
He was arrested in Katz Plaza a short time later.
Police say Walker also had a stolen bank card.
He's charged with robbery, public drunkenness and several other crimes with a preliminary hearing next week.
